  • Cutting hair is a career choice that often gets overlooked in favor of jobs that require a flashy degree or a corner office. But the truth of the matter is, it’s a career choice that is severely overlooked, especially by women! We’ve seen many female barbers soar in this industry. If you enjoy connecting with people, being respected for the quality of your work, and being yourself in the workplace, chances are you will love barbering. Barbers get to make people happy, and create something beautiful by hand.

    The industry has really been ramping up in recent years. We’re seeing a lot more shops offering benefits such as retirement plans, telehealth, paid time off. And the best kept secret is… a busy barber can make close to, or more than six figures a year.

  • Prospective students must be at least 17 years of age, with a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Our classes at Saving Face are two semesters of 9 weeks each, with a one week break in between.

    School is from 9AM-4:30PM, Monday-Thursday.

  • Undoubtedly. Most barber schools in New York State have classes of 20 kids or more, with one teacher. At Saving Face, we are dealing with class sizes of 10 or less, allowing a more personalized, hands-on experience.

    Additionally, being in the industry all across New York State since 2009, we have great relationships with all of the best shops in the region. Good shops are always looking for good barbers, and we will provide opportunities for job placement.

  • The total cost to attend is $12,500.

    This includes tuition, supplies, textbook, and a student kit comprised of high-quality tools from brands like Wahl, Andis, and YS Park. All of which is yours to keep. This also helps us keep our class sizes small (10 or less students) to maximize the learning potential in each class.

  • Unfortunately, we are not able to offer financial aid at this time, but hope to in the near future. We do however offer ways to break up the payments over time.
